Start Now and with a Change Anything mindset!!

It's funny how people react to change!! Some just stare... some say why did you do that?? And many of my lifelong friends can't find me in a crowd!! Oh I was looking for a Blondie!!

I love change!! Honestly you only live once so WHY NOT!!
It's only hair people!! I am sure eventually I will highlight my way back to blonde for summer!!

I work at a Salon and Spa so when you talk to your colorist friend of 10 years and show her a instagram picture... You better be ready to commit!! Before I knew it she was mixing up her bowls with a MAD science look in her eye!!! No turning Back now!!

So I said Let's Do this!!

Now I will answer any questions you might have but let me answer the majority I have gotten here!!!
Just for FUN!! LOL!!

1.) MY FAVORITE!! No I am not on a FBI poster or On the RUN!! <<<<< True!! Thank you for thinking of me as such a daredevil but honestly I wouldn't last a day as Bonnie or Clyde!!

2.) I am going to get HELL for this but I will say Blonde's have more fun... If your idea of fun is being honked at by truckers, spoken slowly too, or the BEST!!! Assumed to be not as smart as our darker colored haired friends!! Truth!! Crazy but True!!

3.) My hair does not feel over processed!! If anything it holds a shine more and the color used was a Wella professional 2 process color done at work by a professional!! If trying this at home YOU will Be Ronald McDonald RED!!! I am warning you here!! I have the Facebook pictures to back this statement up!! Do not send me your at home process nightmare!! I am a skin tech/ Beachbody Coach!! I do not do hair, I REMOVE it with wax!! :)

4.) Dark hair is fun!! Is it a BIG change YES!! I still deep down in my heart of hearts feel like a blonde wearing a wig!! I need a tan and my rosy Irish/German cheeks are proof!! It will be interesting when my blonde roots come in but for now I am rolling with it!


Change Can be hard for many.... Change is also where the magic happens!!
In many ways of life as Adults we fear change when we should EMBRACE it!!
When I look back on all the things I thought or over thought about doing and sometimes didn't it makes me sad!!
Yes I have a bucket list!! No dark hair isn't on it, but maybe it should have been. Right beside swimming with sharks!! LOL!!

I teach my team to think BIGGER and NO I'm not talking about hair color I am talking about life, goals, and WHAT YOU WANT!!

WHY NOT YOU!!
Why NOT have it ALL!!

With every fall we watch the seasons change here in PA, in life we often get complacent!
I challenge you to be FEAR LESS!! This is the theme I am taking with me to end this year.

Halloween Survival Tips!!




We are 3 days away from the scariest holiday of the year!  HALLOWEEN causes many of us to go running in the opposite direction from the mirror when you pull up those skinny jeans after a weekend of candy treats, fun drinks and appetizers!  You might think to yourself that those mini candy bars are a good idea because they are portion sized but then you also think to yourself that you can have more than 1 because they are bite sized!  Before you know it you have taken down half the candy bowl and you are feeling pretty defeated!  

But I want you to also start to change your thinking right now!  Just because you think it's going to be hard doesn't mean you just don't start at all or you take an entire week off of eating healthy and working out bc of one day of trick or treating!  It's all about changing your mindset.  So here are some of my top tips:




1.  Don't get your favorite candy to hand out on Halloween.  Honestly it's like a death sentence.  Why on earth would you torture yourself by getting your favorite candy, putting it in a bowl and staring at it maybe even drooling as people slowly take your favorites!  I will almost put money on it that by the end of the night you have a stashed a few pieces away in your pocket bc you feel like you deserve it!  

INSTEAD---- Get a candy that is not your favorite and doesn't tempt you!  In the past we have gotten the large boxes of pretzels to hand out and there is no temptation there.  Trust me, you are not doing a disservice to other kids.  They are getting plenty of goodies in their treat bags.  There will be no almond joys and reese's peanut butter cups in my house!

2.  Out of sight out of mind.  So don't keep a candy dish in the kitchen or on the end table.  It's screaming eat me mindlessly as you walk by!  We have a candy container that is in the pantry closet and it's up pretty high so that you have to go out of your way to get to it.  


Once Halloween is over you can keep a few pieces for your Hubby... Like me or kids and then donate your candy, send it with your spouse to work!  There is no reason to feel the need to eat all that candy.  It's just going to undo all the great work you have been doing for yourself.  Candy is literally like crack, the more you have it the more you crave it!  Sugar is very very addictive!  So BEWARE, once you start it's hard to stop!

3.  Keep a journal.  It's really really important that as you move into the holidays that you have a great way of tracking your daily food intake.  Honestly, it's so easy to not realize what you are eating.  You take 1 little bite here and 1 little bite there and before you know it you have had way more than you ever expected.  But when you have to write it down and be accountable to that it makes you second guess that decision!  I know for me, that was the defining moment in my weight loss.  I was self sabotaging myself and not even realizing it.

4.  Exercise.  So it's important that no matter what you stick to your fitness program.  So Saturday is Halloween, I am going to get up do my physical therapy, drink my Shakeology for breakfast, have 2 healthy snacks, a healthy lunch and a balanced dinner!  I'm going to hand out candy for trick or treaters at a friends and have a few drinks.  Maybe a piece of candy or an appetizer but I'm not throwing all caution to the wind for the entire day.  I'm not starving myself to have extra calories for the evening! Stick to the plan.  It's 1 meal not an entire day or week!  This is the key to success.  Everything in moderation and don't skip a workout EVER on a cheat day!  DEAL!!! SAVE A YELLOW!! 

5.  Find healthy alternatives.  So you have some favorite halloween treats you love to eat.  Find a few better options to replace some of those not so healthy options!

No bake chocolate peanut butter balls are great for something rich
The chocolate pumpkin granola bars are a great snack idea
It's all about finding a replacement--- you can have the best of both worlds!!!

If you want to change you are going to have to give up a little to get a lot of good!

Tips For Eating Out on the 21 Day Fix!!

It's Monday and as you set up your game plan for the weekend I'm sure your weekend is packed with parties, sports, or dinner at a restaurant. As I'm writing this sentence my head is already starting to spin because I know that all of these things are filled with high fat, sugary, and hard to resist temptations. With that game plan you have to PLAN AND PREP!! Here is a blank meal plan for you to use for your week! 


21 Day Fix Blank Meal Plan 
To keep from having to stress every time you go out in public to a restaurant or
 an event here are some tips from Tosca Reno's 
Stripped book to keep your head in check! 
The Eat Clean Diet falls directly inline with the 21 Day fix clean foods but the
21 Day fix will give you portion control easy with the color coded cup!! SCORE! 
Cheat meal NOT A CHEAT DAY!!



Planning is best, when you are out you always need a game plan. 
You shouldn't avoid eating out because once you enter a 
restaurant you have to be in control!!
 Look at the menu as a way to create YOUR food!! 
You don't have to surrender control over what is in your food. 
Ask questions nicely and review the menu online so you are 
not pressured into a fast decision. 
I worked in restaurants as my first job at 16 till 30 as a side job and 
I know that if you
 ask they are willing to work with you!! 
More Work BIGGER TIP! 


1. Develop an "I don't have to eat it all!" Mindset. Make up your mind before you 
go that you don't have to get the most bang for your buck by cleaning your plate. 
KEEP YOUR GOAL IN MIND.


2. Satisfy hunger only-Don't Gorge. Eat for the purpose of satisfying your hunger, 
but no more. 


3. Start small and green. Start your meal with a salad, without dressing. 
Use a spritz of lemon or some balsamic vinegar. 

4. Broth is best. When there is no salad option have a broth based soup.


5. NO BREAD PLEASE! Remember this is not helping you achieve your 
10 pound weight loss goal.


6. Clean Cooking techniques rock! Look for entree options featuring steamed or 
raw veggies and grilled, baked or roasted meats or fish. 
If they aren't listed, ask the server to prepare it that way. 
Oh and don't always trust the low fat or fat free symbols. 


7. Portion control is in. Have a good look at your plate when it arrives. 
Ask for a doggie bag and split your meal in half.


8. Fletcherize. 
The practice of chewing each mouthful a min of 25 times. It gives your body a chance to 
recognize when you are becoming full. 

9. Zero Tolerance. 
You want to avoid alcohol because sugar can derail you in the most powerful way. 
Have sparkling water with lemon or lime slices.
One the 21 Day fix you can replace a YELLOW 
container with red wine!
If you want to partake.... schedule it into your week! 




10. Stop before the end. 
Think of your plan to shed those pounds, if you can't resist something sweet ask 
for a dish of fresh fruit and leave it at that if you have a 
fruit left in your allowance for the day! 


If you doubt your ability to resist restaurant offerings then pre-eat! Then when you go to a restaurant or social event you don't have to worry about what's on the menu 
and you can focus on socializing.

If you can't resist the dessert table then pack a few clean cookies in a Ziploc bag and 
pull them out with your coffee while everyone else is eating their sugar 
laden cookies and cake. 
If you have to go through a drive through, familiarize yourself with the menu. 
Never super size and make smart food choices by ordering grilled chicken and a side salad. 
Cut up the chicken and place on salad and go with olive and vinegar dressing or, 
low fat balsamic. 

One of the most difficult things to manage while following a healthy 
lifestyle is your social life.
So surround yourself with family and friends that support what you are doing 
and are not sabotaging your efforts. Instead of going out drinking or to a 
restaurant here are some 
alternatives.



Meet a friend at the gym

Have a game night at home with healthy clean snacks listed below!! 

Batters up- organize a kickball or softball game in your neighborhood or with the kids.

Volunteer together at a local charity

Meet at the park for a walk or bike ride

Average is Predictable, Awesome is Adventurous!!

I was listening to a little personal development this morning as I sit on my butt and ice my knee! 
I came across this quote... 



Average Is Predictable and Familiar
Awesome IS Dangerous! Awesome is Adventurous!! 


So last friday I found out that I will have Physical therapy on my knee for 1 month and then I will have surgery... probably right before Christmas or at the start of the new year. 
I fell and it wasn't anything amazing!! I was dancing and my knee went one way and my body the other and POP! I have injured this knee before so it might of been weak and ready to break down.


My ACL is gone and in doing so it collapsed my kneecap bruise it and I have a fracture in the bone. 
I have to Rock a awesome knee brace and a cane.. 

The PT will help me to loosen the knee and make my recovery better after the surgery. 
I feel like it is a death sentence and I am being tourchered for a month before it happens.. 
Honestly my spirits were down, for a hot minute!! 
After a good slap in the face I realized that this is just MY Story and My Story has always been learning things the Hard way! 

Go Hard or Go Home! That is my motto!! 
I guess I CRUSHED that part!! LOL!

2015 has been a YEAR.... If you follow me you know that I had a father-in-law get diagnosed with cancer on January 7th 2015. He spent 6 weeks in ICU and then was moved to hospice where he lost his battle with cancer March 22nd. During his time in ICU my Mother-in-law fell and broke her femur bone. It was actually sticking outside her leg!! If I live to never see that again I will be a very happy person. So 1 in Hospice and 1 in a care center. Taking care of everything as well as the care of them was a challenge and honestly I don't remember most of last winter!! 
I think the focus was wake up and repeat! 

We had many blessing this year as well! My niece Siena was born August 1st two weeks early and I was able to spend time in NY to be with them and spend time with my Sister and her baby. 

Thank GOD for Beachbody... at the Spa I work and I get paid. 
With Beachbody I work from anywhere and I retain an income at this point so if I am away from home I still get paid, if I am in the hospital everyday.. I still get paid.
I don't even want to think if I was still living paycheck to paycheck before Beachbody.. 
I would probably be filing bankruptcy at this point.


After the Death of my FIL my husband was lost. He had a breakdown and tapped into an area in his life he thought he had buried so deep. He was lost, he would often look at me with this blank stare and I knew I was losing him. He wouldn't lash out but he was different. He was lost and he couldn't even see or feel why. Brian grew up in a very different home than I did and everything that went on in that time he buried deep. He wasn't allowed to express feelings and has never even heard the words I love you from his mother, but he is his mother and I give him a lot of credit for taking such good care of her. I don't know if I grew up the same way if I would be so understanding. 
This summer at the end of July I actually moved out of our home and left Brian. His actions were not getting better and I knew I needed to prove to him that I wa serious and that we as a couple needed to go to therapy. I had mentioned it before to help him and he refused. Men tend to now like to ask for help and I didn't want to seem like a nag but I knew that he needed help. 
After only a few days living with friends and my Mother he finally agreed to therapy and we go once a week to meet with Dr. Dan. 



Communication has been our focus, Brian was burying feelings and testing me since after his father's death he felt like he had NO one else but me and my family. 

Even the Doctor told us that we have an amazing relationship, I told him I knew that but I knew I had to nip this in the butt before it got worse. I felt alone and I never knew what to expect when I walked in the door. I didn't want that to be the lifestyle for us. 

Honestly we both think this year has brought us closer and now I can say that we are better than ever. I am thankful that I was strong enough for the both of us to not let us fail. 

Personal development is something that as a coach beachbody taught me. I read you are a Bad ASS at the time where I couldn't even find myself. I felt lost and I didn't recognize myself in the mirror. 
I knew in April I had to get my mind right and back into focus. 
Never did I think that it would save the love of my life too. 

10 minutes a day.... I read to better myself and make myself stronger. 
10 minutes that is easy not to do, but has been proven to me to change my entire outlook. 

After Leadership I made a promise to myself that I was going to focus on me. I was going to turn this year into something great!! Than I collapsed to the floor in Florida.


I have EVER excuse to say OH WELL!! Throw my hands in the air and fill my wine glass up and bury it all! Honestly I thought about it.. but how would that get me closer to making 2016 better. 
It wouldn't!! After Receiving a ton of messages like this above  I changed my focus and I have accomplished some pretty AWESOME things in the mix of all this madness this year!! 



My Beachbody Team is Better than Ever!! 
My Business Is growing! 
I have been able to help others in health and wealth.
I am debt free beside my Mortgage. 
I am a new Aunt and I need to be a good example.
I am a Wife and I am proud of my Family.
I have people on my team that believe enough in me and this business that have trusted me as a leader to leave a full time job. 
I will rely on my Beachbody income and only that for 3 months till I can heal from this surgery. 

I need to think with my head and not my broken heart.
2105 has been hard but hardly what others have gone through. 
I feel guilty for even thinking why me, when others have great struggle as well. 
So Flip it! My Focus is on seeking out and changing 10 lives before this year ends. 

Where am I right Now?  
I am focused on my BIG Goals! 
I am not giving up! 



My health goal is to focus and become a master of what I put into my body. I can control that!! 
My team goal is to help 3 coaches retire for 2016! Full time at home coach! 
My goal for myself in business is to grow in leadership as a bench bark. I want to help 5 people reach a goal of Diamond by December 22nd, 2015!! 

My focus is on getting stronger mentally and physically so that in return I can seek out and find others that felt lost and need a safe place to find AWESOME again.

Autumn Butternut Squash Quinoa




I love Fall Comfort Food!!
Honestly Who Doesn't!! This Recipe is rich and creamy and Packed full of Flavor!
I love to serve it with a Kale salad to complete the meal!
You could easily add in Chicken for a protein but Quinoa is packed with protein as a grain!

Autumn Butternut Squash Quinoa 



1 Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a medium pot, bring the stock
concentrates and 2½ cups water to a simmer over low heat. Cut the
butternut squash into ½-inch cubes if they aren’t already. Mince or
grate the garlic. Halve, peel, and finely chop the shallot.

2 Roast the squash: toss the butternut squash on a baking sheet
with 2 teaspoons Olive oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Place in the oven
for 25-30 minutes, tossing halfway through cooking, until soft and
golden brown.


3 Meanwhile, heat 1 Tablespoon oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Add the garlic and shallot and cook, tossing, for 3-4 minutes, until very
soft. Season with salt and pepper. Add the rice to the pan and cook,
tossing, for 1-2 minutes, until the rice looks translucent. Reduce the heat
to medium-low.


4 Make the Quinoa: in ¼-cup increments, add the warm stock to the
pan and stir frequently, until the liquid is absorbed by the rice. Continue
this process until creamy sauce has formed, about 15-20 minutes.


5 Finely chop the sage, reserving a few small leaves for garnish.


6 When the Quinoa is done, stir the butternut squash, chopped
sage, Parmesan, and 1 Tablespoon butter into the pan. Season
generously with salt and pepper.


7 Divide between plates and garnish with the pepitas and
reserved sage leaves.

Eat Clean Minestrone with Tortellini

 Soups on!  Today is the perfect fall day for soup! I love when you wake up to the smell of something slow cooking on the stove top! Vegetarian but added beans for the nursing mother since we are in NY with my Sister!

Minestrone with Tortellini 
Adapted From Fake Ginger

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 carrots, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch pieces I purchased Shredded (Lazy)
2 stalks of celery, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1 medium onion, minced
5 ounces mushrooms, sliced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
3 cups vegetable broth
2 1/2 cups Water mixed with 1 cup tomato sauce
 (V8 juice but Not Clean)
1 (15-oz) can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed  
1 (9-oz) package fresh Whole Wheat cheese tortellini
1 medium zucchini, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/2-inch pieces
salt and black pepper
1/2 cup red table wine (optional) 
2 sprigs Fresh Rosemary 
grated Parmesan, for serving
Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat. Stir in the carrots, celery, and onions,1/4 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper to taste, and cook until just softened, 3-5 minutes. Stir in the mushrooms, and cook until all the vegetables are softened, 5-6 more minutes. Add the garlic and oregano and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  2. Stir in the broth, scraping up any browned bits. Stir in the tomato sauce  juice and beans and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook about 10 minutes.
  3. Add the tortellini and zucchini and continue to simmer until they are cooked through and tender, 5-7 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Divide among serving bowls and top each portion with a spoonful of pesto and a sprinkling of Parmesan before serving.

Can you name everything you ate yesterday?? It’s hard right??

But when it comes to health and losing weight EVERY CALORIE COUNTS. I am not going to tell you to become the calorie natzi...but I am going to have you WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING YOU EAT!!!

You can use paper or my favorite app Myfitness pal. I'm even going to add a free food journal printable that you can use to track your daily food intake.

When I first started to try and lose weight I realized that the handful of fish crackers, picking at dinner while I made it, or eating my kids leftovers was SABOTAGING me!!

You don't necessarily have to do this all the time....but the longer you do it the more effortless it will become for you to stay within a good calorie limit. You will effortlessly KNOW about how many calories things have and how much you should eat.  

It's worth the effort.
